Andrew Barlage
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Andrew started with FB4KMN as a volunteer way back in 2009, eventually joining the staff as Bike Recipient Coordinator in 2023. He became Executive Director in 2025 and has continued to push FB4KMN to improve the ways we help the people we serve and the programs we support. Andrew’s first-line treatment for his ADHD is riding his bike, making the mental health impact of our work a personal and important part of what drives his passion for our mission.

Martha Hoeppner
BOARD CHAIR
Martha Hoeppner serves as Board Chair of Free Bikes 4 Kidz Minnesota and is passionate about creating opportunities for kids and families through access to bicycles. She brings experience in leadership, and community engagement, helping guide the organization’s growth and impact across Minnesota. Martha is inspired by the power of a bicycle to build confidence, independence, health, and connection. Outside of FB4K, she enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.

Phil Wolpers
BOARD VICE CHAIR
A seasoned problem solver and technology leader, Phil cut his professional teeth in the bike industry. More recently he has held strategic roles in technology product management across retail and logistics leaders. When not in the office, supporting FB4K MN, or spending time with his wife and two kids, Phil loves maintaining his bikes almost as much as he loves riding them with family and friends on all the beautiful tarmac, gravel, and dirt that Minnesota has to offer.

Amy Kippley
TREASURER
Amy Kippley volunteered annually with FB4K MN, cleaning and wrenching on bikes before joining the board. She came with 15+ years in the bicycle industry and now works as an auditor in Minneapolis. An avid cyclist, distance runner, and dog lover, Amy believes in the power of a life spent outdoors.

Mike DePauw
SECRETARY
Mike has led global marketing agency teams for some of the world’s most recognized brands. He now focuses on building sustainable growth in the nonprofit sector, having worked with organizations such as Minnesota Public Radio, the University of St. Thomas, the Minnesota Financial Empowerment Initiative, the National Association of Corporate Directors MN, and Farm Commons Legal Support, through brand strategy, messaging, omni-channel marketing, donor acquisition and retention strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

Matthew Kennedy
BOARD MEMBER
Former bean counter before becoming a client spokesman for HairClub for Men. When not modeling and putting miles on my Wilier, I play an amazing #2 parent with an even more amazing wife to Monroe and Maris.

Adam Clarke
BOARD MEMBER
Experienced IT leader and longtime lover of bikes. In 7th grade he rode to school many days through a Minnesota winter as a challenge with a friend – surprisingly that only made him like riding even more and ever since he has been hooked. Adam‘s favorite place to ride is Cuyuna on his Salsa Rustler. Worked in the bike industry for 15+ years, and his most recent bike related accomplishment was reducing the size of his herd from 10 bikes to 5.

Linda Stone
BOARD MEMBER
An experienced lawyer who also helped lead the revitalization of a grant-making non-profit, Linda helps to fuel the kids in her current work as a strategic director for an organization focused on relieving hunger for Minnesota’s kids. Her first bike was a green Schwinn, still remembered while she turns the crank on her De Rosa.

Bryan Wall
BOARD MEMBER
Bryan Wall is an experienced digital marketing leader specializing in customer acquisition. Loves riding trails and enjoying nature. Bryan also builds bicycles including fillet brazing his own frames. Previous board work includes Make a Wish, Stages Theater, and the Leland Johnson Common Vision program. Loves Free Bikes 4 Kids MN for its mission to provide bikes to those most in need.

Melissa Burns
BOARD MEMBER
Melissa Burns joined FB4KMN in 2025, bringing over 30 years of experience as an early childhood educator in Minneapolis Public Schools. She is deeply committed to supporting young learners and regularly writes grants to secure bikes and helmets for preschool tot lots, helping children enjoy safe and active outdoor play. Growing up in a large Northeast Minneapolis family, Melissa values community and connection. She enjoys cheering on her youngest son in sports and stays active through volunteering and walking the trails near her home in Ham Lake.

Dedicated educator, entrepreneur, and community leader with 26 years of experience in North Minneapolis Public Schools. As a proud alumnus of North Community High School and a lifelong resident, I am committed to serving my community.
